How we know. Equity means the posting mentions equity in its compensation details. We read it at the same time as pay, so roles that state no pay count neither way. Roles are counted the way /jobs counts them: one per company and title, open and seen in the last day. Pay is the midpoint of the posted US-dollar range, as posted: usually base pay, though sales ranges often include commission. Same team and level means pairs with 20 or more roles on each side, and the gap is the median across those pairs. Level comes from the words in each title.
