Selling AI chips to frontier labs, starting with MatX One.
MatX designs one chip, the MatX One, for large LLMs: training, RL and inference. It keeps model weights mostly in on-chip SRAM for speed and uses HBM for long context. It openly gives up small models and ease of programming. The CEO says the first sales are expected to be for inference. It has no disclosed revenue or named customers.

If it closes, it would value the company at roughly 13 times the Series A price. Chip startups need more cash before revenue.

Everything rides on the first chip.
Cheeky Pint interview, Feb 26, 2026In Feb 2026 the CEO said tapeout was under a year away, costing about $30M, with chips around year end and volume shipping planned for 2027.
First silicon often slips or needs a respin. A delay would push revenue out and mean more fundraising.
