Mostly remote, in three countries.
Tailscale careers page, checked Nov 3, 2026The careers page says most staff 'work wherever there's wifi', in Canada, the US and the UK. Some teams, such as Sales, go to an office a few days a week.
Remote is the default for most roles, but only in those three countries, and some sales roles are hybrid.

Leaning toward Canadian hiring.
BetaKit, Apr 8, 2025; BetaKit, Mar 17, 2026In April 2025 it said it wanted to place as many new roles in Canada as it could, citing trade tensions. A Vancouver office is growing.
US and UK roles still exist, but the tilt may favor Canadian candidates.
Sales is paid 73% over market. Engineering, 28% over.

What has to be true for $1.45 billion to hold?
Tailscale does not publish revenue, so the starting number is your assumption, not ours. A way to think, not a forecast, and not investment advice.
At 25x, Tailscale needs $58 million of revenue to be worth $1.45 billion. Your world gets there with $232 million, so the next round likely prices above the last.
$100,000 of equity valued at the $1.45B Series C price would be worth about $400,000 on paper in this world, before dilution from new rounds, taxes and vesting. Private shares only turn into cash at a sale, an IPO or a tender offer.
A way to think, not a forecast, and not investment advice.
BetaKit, Apr 8, 2025The signals, and which way they push.
- TailwindAI companies need private networks across clouds.
The CEO credits AI demand, including agents, for faster growth. Nvidia, Microsoft, Mistral and Cohere are named customers.
- TailwindMore to sell each customer.
Aperture, PAM, DNS filtering with Control D and the Tailnets API all arrived in 2026. Revenue no longer rests on seats alone.
- HeadwindSecurity bugs land harder on a security product.
The Tailworm report drew wide security press in Oct 2026, and Tailscale rushed patches. Large buyers may ask harder questions.
- HeadwindBig security vendors sell the same idea.
Cloudflare One was named as a rival as early as 2022. Large buyers can bundle zero-trust access from vendors they already pay.
