01 · The business

Paid by the task order to build and run VA software.

VetsEZ wins task orders on government contract vehicles (VA's T4NG and T4NG2, GSA schedule, NASA SEWP VI, MDA SHIELD) and staffs development, security and operations teams on them. The VA has been almost its only customer. It does not publish revenue.

The fact is the source's. The read, in italics, is ours.

One VA order is nearly half of everything it has ever won.

The HMDM DevSecOps order has $365.8M obligated since Sep 2022 and $105.4M in FY2026 alone. Its period of performance ends Sep 27, 2027.

A recompete win would carry the company for years; a loss would remove about half its federal work. Watch for the follow-on solicitation in 2027.

Its only big customer is cutting IT spending.

VA's FY2026 request cut IT staff by 11.7% and sought about 7,000 IT employees, citing automation. VA terminated 435 contracts worth about $1.1B in 2025, mostly consulting, per an OIG audit.

No VetsEZ order appears on the cut lists we saw, and its obligations rose. But a single-agency contractor feels any VA budget squeeze directly.

    Good

Federal obligations jumped 61% in FY2026.

$199.5M in FY2026 against $123.9M in FY2025, driven by the HMDM and Community Care orders.

Growth is real but concentrated. More dollars on the same two orders is not the same as new customers.

A seat on a $151B missile defense vehicle, with little work yet.

VetsEZ won a spot on the Missile Defense Agency SHIELD IDIQ in Dec 2025. Under 1% of obligations so far have come from outside the VA.

A hunting license, not revenue. It is the clearest sign VetsEZ wants to diversify beyond the VA.

Still winning new VA pharmacy work.

Won a 2.5-year, $18M Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy order (Dec 2025) and a three-year, $17.5M Prescription Drug Monitoring Program order (Mar 2026).

Smaller orders, but they show the VA still picks VetsEZ in 2026 despite budget pressure.

No CEO on the leadership page.

The current page lists William Turner as president and Sanjay Dhar as chairman, with no CEO. Turner was promoted to executive vice president in Jul 2025. Older third-party profiles name James Miner as president and CEO.

Looks like a leadership change, but we found no announcement. Ask who runs the company.

Registered in San Diego, with an office in Norfolk.

Federal records and the contact page give 1901 1st Avenue, San Diego, CA. The contact page also lists Norfolk, VA. No Rockville, MD office was found.

For a fully remote firm the address matters little, but it corrects the location shown in some directories.

    Small-business status may not last.

VetsEZ is listed as a small business and won its $158M Community Care order as a service-disabled veteran-owned set-aside. Its federal obligations are now near $200M a year.

Our read: growth can push a firm past small-business size limits on new bids, closing off set-asides it relies on. The rules are contract by contract, so this is a risk, not a fact.

05 · Built for the agentic era?

Can AI agents do business with VetsEZ?

We checked the agent payment programs, developer docs and site rules an AI assistant would meet.

Our verdict

Not built for outside agents. It sells AI work to the VA but offers no public agent tools of its own.

  4. Headwind
    Two orders carry the company.

95% of FY2026 obligations came from HMDM and Community Care; HMDM ends Sep 2027.

09 · Bold predictions

Where VetsEZ ends up, if we had to bet.

Our calls, not facts. Each one is tied to something that already happened, so you can judge the reasoning.

  1. 1

VetsEZ does not go public by 2036.

    Long shot 16%IPO

It is an S corporation with no outside investors on record, and federal contractors its size usually sell rather than list. No filing has been reported.

    USASpending recipient profile
  2. 2

A larger contractor or private equity buyer acquires VetsEZ by 2031.

    Coin flip 50%M&A

Fast-growing set-aside firms often sell as they outgrow small-business status, and Carlyle paid $4.2B for ManTech in 2022 to buy federal IT incumbency. VetsEZ has VA incumbency but no announced sale process.

  3. 3

VetsEZ keeps the HMDM work past Sep 2027.

    Coin flip 50%Revenue

Incumbents often win recompetes, and VetsEZ beat two rivals in 2022. But the VA is cutting IT spend and the follow-on may be bid on T4NG2 against 29 other holders.

    USASpending award record; Nextgov
  4. 4

AI and automation work becomes a named line in most new VetsEZ VA orders.

    Likely 72%AI

VA justified IT staff cuts by a shift toward automation, and VetsEZ has repositioned as AI-native with a Chief AI Officer.

    FedScoop; VetsEZ homepage
  5. 5

Non-VA agencies make up a quarter of VetsEZ federal obligations by 2031.

    Long shot 16%Competition

It now holds SHIELD, SEWP VI and GSA vehicles. But under 1% of obligations since FY2008 came from outside the VA.
